Areas of Expertise

What Rasa Knows Best

Deep specialization in compact living solutions and practical space optimization

Compact Furniture Selection

Identifying and recommending furniture pieces that maximize functionality without consuming valuable floor space. She knows which styles actually work in small apartments and which are just marketing hype.

Spatial Planning & Layout

Strategic arrangement of living spaces to improve flow and usability. Rasa doesn't just move furniture around—she redesigns how people actually live in their spaces through thoughtful planning.

Storage Innovation

Creative storage solutions that blend into design rather than dominate it. From hidden shelving to multifunctional pieces, she's mastered the art of making clutter disappear while keeping things accessible.

Design Aesthetics for Small Spaces

Making small apartments feel open and inviting through color choices, lighting, and material selection. She understands how design decisions either expand or shrink perceived space.

Multifunctional Design

Creating spaces that work double or triple duty. She specializes in furniture and layouts that adapt to different needs—sleeping, working, entertaining—without requiring a separate room for each.

Urban Apartment Market Knowledge

Deep familiarity with Lithuanian housing standards, building codes, and the specific challenges of cities like Alytus. She knows the real constraints residents face and provides solutions that actually fit.

Professional Journey

The Story Behind the Expertise

How It All Started

Rasa's journey into interior design began in 2010 when she faced a challenge many young Vilnius professionals encounter: finding an affordable apartment. She ended up with a 32-square-meter studio that, by most standards, felt cramped. But instead of seeing it as a limitation, she saw an opportunity.

Over the course of a year, she renovated that tiny space systematically. Every decision—from furniture selection to wall color to storage solutions—was deliberate. By the time she was done, her studio felt spacious, functional, and genuinely beautiful. Friends and colleagues started asking how she'd managed it. That's when the spark ignited. She realized there was both a personal passion and a market need for this kind of expertise.

Formal Education

In 2012, Rasa enrolled at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) to formalize her passion. Her degree program covered spatial design, color theory, materials, sustainable practices, and design history. But her real education came from combining classroom theory with the practical knowledge she'd already gained from her own apartment. She graduated in 2015 with a focus on residential design and small-space optimization.

Professional Growth

Since graduating, she's worked with design firms, independent clients, and eventually as a consultant and content specialist. Over 14 years total (including her university years of active renovation work), she's been directly involved in over 800 apartment redesigns. She's consulted on projects ranging from studio apartments to small two-bedroom units, primarily across Lithuanian cities with high populations of compact housing. Her work has been featured in Lithuanian interior design publications, and she's become known for honest, practical advice rather than aspirational design that doesn't work in real life.

What drives her professionally is a simple belief: apartment size shouldn't limit comfort or style. A 35-square-meter studio can be just as livable and beautiful as a 100-square-meter apartment—it just requires smarter thinking. That philosophy guides everything she does.

"Apartment size doesn't limit comfort or style. It just requires smarter thinking. I've seen 35-square-meter studios transformed into genuinely beautiful, functional homes. The constraint becomes an advantage—you can't waste space on things that don't matter."

Design Principles That Guide Her Work

Functionality First

Every piece of furniture and design decision must serve a purpose. Beauty matters, but not if it compromises how you actually live.

Honest Recommendations

She tells you what works and what doesn't. Some furniture trends look good in photos but fail in real apartments—she's upfront about that.

Respect for Constraints

She understands budget limits, space constraints, and building codes. Solutions work within real-world limitations, not around them.

Personal Approach

Every apartment and every person is different. Solutions are tailored to individual needs, not applied as one-size-fits-all formulas.
